Whether one simply wishes to know their Airstream better than the regular owners manual allows or one is doing a complete rebuild and restoration this factory service manual is invaluable.
The manual covers all Airstreams produced for 1982. It is also a very valuable aid for Airstreams of other years that are close in date to 1982 as some systems and design layout remained the same for years
Every page is profusely illustrated with detailed pictures and diagrams such as the one reduced below. For some sample pages that better show the detail please email us with a request and we will reply with an attached pdf file that shows the scope and detail of this manual.
Attention 1981 model year owners: Sometime about 1980 Airstream was once again sold; this time to Thor industries. Thor brought in many changes to the Airstream Line. A major change was to component suppliers of heaters, TV antenna, pumps, etc. Basic items such as water heaters were now made to conform to what Thor was installing in it's established line of trailers. As well Thor made changes to the Airstream manuals, making them more simple and general. Eventually the service manuals were discontinued for a time in the mid 80's. For 1981 Thor did not produce a new service manual for Airstream. Instead they used up stock of the 1980 manual and simply added a few loose pages covering the changes they had made to the various components. Few of these have survived intact. So for the owner of any 1981 model Airstream the best option for a service manual is to purchase the 1982 service manual which has all the changes. Of course some 1981 Airstreams went out the door configured differently as old stock was used up. Please ask if you have a specific repair problem and we will be glad to answer if the item is covered.
